Bling it on for Funday Friday!

Welcome to the new year! 

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is looking forward to the new year. I haven't made any resolutions, instead I am making at least one small, but meaningful change each month. I've started with eating a healthy breakfast every day, and honestly, I do think it is making a difference. I am making a veggie and fruit smoothie. Now I have no intention of giving up my coffee...but breakfast is now more than just coffee. How about you? Any positive changes for the new year?

Here is what I created for this week's challenge. 

I am totally of the opinion that life is better with bling! So I was excited to go overboard with this one. I used glitter paper and stickles and bling. The digi is Cutie in Wonderland. The little bottle in her hand says "drink me". I thought the card would be cute to pair with a bottle of wine when I go to visit some friends. I colored in the flowers with various Gelatos and then did a slight "wipe" of clear stickles down the center of each and in the middle. It also made me realize that I need to expand my Gelatos collection...I had no pink...yikes!

It's Funday Friday Again!

Wow...less than two weeks before Christmas! Is everyone ready? I know I'm not. We do a Secret Santa with all the adults in my family and I still have to order my Secret Gift. But at least I have my two younger nieces done. They are at the age where it's cash and gift cards. So gift cards are purchased and now to come up with a clever way to wrap them. And the house is almost decorated.

Here is what I created for this week's challenge.
I know my teddy bear isn't colored yet but I realized I don't have the COPICS colors I want to use to color hiim in (E41, E43, E44). I have my COPICS club meeting tomorrow so I'll be purchasing them then so I can finish this little cutie  :)  I figured better to wait a day than to color it in and be unhappy with it forever....

My goal was to create a Christmas package look to the outside of the card. I cut my patterned paper and then used my metal ruler and exacto knife to slice the X across it. And the best part, you get enough to make two cards with it. 

The inside is very simple, but heartfelt.

I can't believe it's Friday already - is week has really flown by for me. I think I have recovered from all the turkey and stuffing...although I'm not sure I could ever have enough stuffing...lol!

Here is what I created for this week's challenge:

 It was a tough decision for me...did I want to create my own washi tape look or use washi tape???  Well, in the end I couldn't find the template I made for creating my own washi tape :(   So I had to use my washi tape. Even the sentiment is washi tape. The digi embellishments are from Bugaboo. Wait till you see the layout I have planned for a larger version of this bell! That's for another post :)  One of the great things about digis is you can make them any size you want.

Happy Thanksgiving

I just wanted to take a moment to thank those who follow my blog..I am truly thankful for each one of you. I am also thankful for that I have been blessed with a roof over my head, food on the table, my family, my friends, my church, my job and my pup.

There will be no Funday Friday tomorrow so everyone has time to spend time with their family and friends.

Here is what I created for this week's challenge:

This is the Autumn Smile digi and it comes with a very cute bonus digi. The sunflowers I fussy cut are part of the bonus (you'll have to check it out to see what else comes with it!). I also put one sunflower on the inside of the card just to add a little extra something. I think I'll be giving this Thanksgiving card to my friend's aunt and uncle. I'll be spending Thanksgiving dinner with them. My mom goes to Florida to be with my one sister and BIL for Thanksgiving so I have about a month to myself. And yes, I do have some essential craft time planned :)   My other siblings and I decided to take it as a "day off holiday" for Thanksgiving a few years ago. My other BIL works long hours so it's a day he and my other sister just get to be together at home, no running around. My brother and SIL spend the day with her family and then don't have to run the kids around from house to house. I love the holidays but sometimes the running around to see everyone gets crazy. I have a dear friend who has decided to stay home for the holidays and let everyone come to her and her kids if they want - what a great idea! Her kids have requested pasta for Thanksgiving...a very un-traditional request but it sounds like a great tradition to start...she will be cooking their favorites.

I think the warm weather is officially gone here :(   Last night we had our first flurries. It's definitely a little early for us but at least it wasn't enough to create the "have to go buy bread and milk!" panic...lol!

Here is what I created for this week's challenge:

Since Fall has definitely arrived here, and Thanksgiving just around the corner, I decided to combine the two. My scan didn't come out too well for this no matter how hard I tried....and I have no clue what that little tag is on the "h"..but it scans in where ever I place it on the scanner. (I truly am technology challenged...lol!) I heat embossed the leaves in clear and then used my daubbers to rub about four different autumn colors around the card. Add a scrap of burlap and a button, and it's a card I would be thankful to receive.

I hope everyone is enjoying the change of seasons. The weather here is starting to get a little cooler and all the leaves are falling. But I have to admit, I think the leaves are much more beautiful on the trees than they are on the ground. I will be spending a lot of time this weekend outside getting them all raked up.  The kicker is I don't have any trees in my front yard and it's covered - the wind has brought the neighborhood pile to me! I actually wish they were all in the back yard so my dog could play in a pile. But enough of me and on to the challenge....drum roll please....

I decided to use up some of my Stampin' Up stash that I have been accumulating for this challenge.  The two stamps are from the Thanks for Caring set. I love the look the border punches give, not sure why I don't think to use them more often. It gives it that little extra something to finish off the card I think.

On the inside I punched the border to match so you have plenty of room to right your heartfelt sentiment.
