Tasty Tuesday

It's been far too long since I did a Tasty Tuesday - my apologies!

I recently made a delicious breakfast bake.
It was a Tastefully Simply recipe - Gorgonzola Crustless Quiche. Although I had a pre-made pie crust in the fridge that needed to be used up so I added the pie crust. This was so delicious that I could have eaten half the pan. But it was also filling and really satisfying. And the leftovers freeze and reheat wonderfully.

I love to cook but with my schedule I need to keep it simple but healthy (and delicious!), and Tastefully Simple does just that for me.

Thanks for stopping by!

Simply Saturday and Organization

Anyone who knows me knows "simply" and "organization" aren't two words I say together...lol! I have been doing the Get Organized Challenge with The Scrap Rack. The whole idea of the challenge is being organized and being able to find anything you need within seconds! Of course they have a great system they sell but also give advice on  using other items for organizing and there's a great FB group for ideas - 2011 Get Organized Challenge Group.

The organizational challenge is free and this is my third time doing the challenge (and I will need to do it again...lol!). I am what they call a "got a lotta" with my craft supplies :)   And yes, as I am organizing more and more I am finding I have purchased some things more than once...guess I really liked them! Plus I find I get distracted by all my goodies so it takes a long time...oh shiny!

But with the challenge, Tiffany (creator of the Scrap Rack) urges everyone to have a reward at the end of each week's challenge. And the first week is to create a big benefit board. So here is my benefit board...

I decided to do a full layout because I want to scrap about my hobby in my book about me. I figure the second page I will journal about the challenge. At some point I 'll do a large journaling about why I scrapboook, create cards, do paper crafting and why it all brings me so much joy. Not to mention the friendships I've made along the way.

So each of the tags has a reward on it. As I am completing each week's challenge I am writing on the back of the tag about it. Week 2 was a lunch with  my friend Michelle who is also doing the challenge (check out her page Majestic Memories) so I did a short journal of where we went and had an awesome lunch. Week 3 was spending some "me" time at Starbucks with a good book!
While I have talked alot...this was really a simple layout. The pages were pre-decorated and the pockets and tags were easy to make. It took me a lot longer to figure out what my challenge rewards were than to create the layout!

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Happy Easter with Funday Friday!

Easter is almost here already! I think my favorite part this year is the fact that the snow is gone...lol!

So here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsors are Fitztown and Di's Digis. The challenge starts Friday, March 27th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, April 3rd at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme is Happy Easter. Here is my project for this week.
I used my layout idea book from Close to My Heart to find the layout. The adorable digis are colored in with my COPICs. I can't remember where I purchased the marshmallow peep paper but I just thought it was absolutely adorable...and who doesn't love peeps. Last year I actually blew one up really large in the microwave just for fun. I might need to recreate that this year with pictures just for fun! (Yes, I am "that" aunt...lol!)

I am hosting Easter so I decided I wanted to create a layout instead of a card. Plus I totally forgot to give my niece's the cards I made them last year...I know, crazy huh! I gave them gifts but no cards. So they will get the cards from last year this year. Here's a close up of those adorable digis...

Funday Friday for a Special Birthday

So here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsors are Little Blue Button Stamps and Bugaboo. The challenge starts Friday, March 20th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, March 27th at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme is a Special Birthday! Here is my project for this week.
I used the Stella 29 Again digi from Bugaboo for my layout.  This is going to be a layout for my mom's 88th birthday in August. I figure, any year she is still with me is a special birthday. Plus, she has about 3 or 4 birthday celebrations each year now so I figure I am going to need all the pages on the inside of the "cake" for all the celebrations.
I used the Close to My Heart flip flap pages to make the "layered cake" giving me more room for those celebration photos. They come in a variety of sizes so they can fit any layout you need to add a few extra photos to.

I did get a bit of glare on my photos no matter how many I took or from what angle so here is a close up of the digi.

I am anxious to see what everyone creates for this week's Funday Friday! Please make sure to stop by my DT sister's blogs to check out what they made for this challenge, I know you'll love it!

Simply Saturday

It's been way too long since I posted a Simply Saturday...  One of my crafty pals showed us how to make this adorable card...it's just too stinkin' cute right?!?!

It doesn't look easy but it really was! The gator head was made with the largest Labels Collection Framelit. Just cut the die with the folded edge of the paper just below the top of the die to keep the fold, then cut the sides off - how incredibly clever! Then the "head" is put thru the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots embossing folder. It's a little stiff putting the double paper thru the Big Shot but it's a great effect! The inside is just the next smaller frame. And his "teeth" are little banners! We inked up his face front and nostrils a little to show the texture a bit. And we put his nostrils on with glue dots to give just a slight "lift" for that extra dimensional look.

Once you've made one, you'll see how easy it is to make..I promise :)  This is one that looks difficult and impressive...but it's easy and impressive!

Thanks for stopping by on this Simply Saturday - where Simple can be Stunning!

Funday Friday and the Luck of the Clover

It's another Funday Friday...and we are expecting more snow in NJ..yikes! Most of the snow finally melted and the temps were so warm. Mother Nature is getting one last laugh I guess.

Here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsor this week is Limited Runs. The challenge starts Friday, March 13th (lucky Friday the 13th for the Lucky Clovers!) at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, March 20th at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme is Lucky Clover!

This week I did a layout that I will use for my pictures from a fabulous party a crafty friend is having tomorrow night for St. Patty's Day. Yes, the party is that good every year that I know it will be fabulous before it even starts! St. Patty's is a national holiday in her house and her and her hubby don't hold back....great food and great friends...what more could a girl want!

I used my Creative Memories custom cutting system heart to make my clover. I'm going to cut pictures to put in each leaf of the clover as well as the green block. I actually purchased a cute stamp set from Close to My Heart to use and misplaced it. It is lost in the depths of my craft room (yet another reason to get more organized!). Soooo I had to run to Michael's to see what I could find. They had no shamrock paper (because it turned out to be a paper sale and the shelves were half empty) and only one shamrock stamp. So I purchased the stamp, the glitter paper and the embellishments and made my own back ground.

Funday Friday...a little late....

My apologies to everyone...life (aka...that darn day job!) got into my way this week and I am running behind on all the fun things that keep me going. So here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsors are Little Blue Button Stamps and Cutting Cafe. The challenge starts Friday, March 6th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, March 16th at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme is a sketch.
I think this is so cute! And here is my creation for this week's challenge...
I used the Miss Lilly Cupcake 2 from Cutting Cafe. Isn't she adorable. I had a lot of fun coloring her in with my COPICs. I was able to use up some scraps too to make my little banners at the bottom.

I am anxious to see what everyone creates for this week's Funday Friday! Please make sure to stop by my DT sister's blogs to check out what they made for this challenge, I know you'll love it!

SMASH kit

I just wanted to quickly share part of a SMASH kit I finally finished putting together. I have a SMASH book...it has a lot of beautiful page...
