Fun~day Friday...all torn up!

Wow can you believe it's already Memorial Day weekend? I am extremely thankful for all those who have served our country! If you or any of your family have served - thank you from the bottom of heart. Our know our freedom isn't free...

So what are your plans for the weekend? I am scrappin' tomorrow and then church on Sunday and nothing planned the rest of the weekend! I am really looking forward to just doing "whatever" for Sunday and Monday.

So here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsor this week is Cutting Cafe. The challenge starts Friday, May 22nd at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, May 29th at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme for this week is torn edges. Here is what I created...

I used the Fun with Lunch Bags from Cutting Cafe for both the outside and inside printed sentiments. Some of the sayings are really cute so you want to be sure to check them out. I used 3 Twenty Crafts Simple Sentiments for the stamped images on the front. The Celebrate YOU! is stamped on velum. The sentiments are perfect to layer in so many ways.  And of course ice cream is appropriate for any celebration so it called for ice cream cone brads.

And here is my inside since I wanted to cover up the brad prongs.

I can't wait to see what everyone creates with torn edges! And please make sure to stop by my DT sister's blogs to check out what they made for this challenge, I know you'll love it!

Fun~day Friday #88

So here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsor this week is Little Blue Button Stamps. The challenge starts Friday, May 15th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, May 22nd at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme for this week is this beautiful sketch:

Here is what I created for this week's sketch challenge. I think of it as butterflies and lace...

I created the background on the butterflies. I took a scrap of off white paper and just stamped with my favorite swirly stamp and then punched out butterflies. And yes, I got a little carried away with punching out the butterflies (there were many more than what you see...lol!). I couldn't get a good enough picture to really do the background paper justice. It's an elegant paper with a beautiful gold outline on the paper. And on the side I added the last piece of the paper to give a little accent.

I love seeing what everyone creates for the Fun~day Friday challenges! Please make sure to stop by my DT sister's blogs to check out what they made for this challenge, I know you'll love it!

Tasty Tuesday

I am still enjoying my relaxing weekend breakfasts. This time I made french toast using Tastefully Simple's Hearty Banana Bread Mix and it was incredible!!

And yes, I admit...I sampled of piece of bread before I started making french toast, I just couldn't resist! And here is my french toast.

I made the bread exactly as the recipe was on the package and just used my favorite french toast recipe (one egg, one cup milk, a teaspon vanilla and some cinnamon). Next time I think I will add some chopped walnuts and cinnamon to the bread to make it even tastier.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!

Simply Saturday

I don't have a lot of memorabilia to scrap like people with kids and grandkids do. So I had to really think about how I was going to display my memorabilia from last year's Scrapbook Expo. So here is what I ended up doing.

I wanted to keep it all on one page but I wanted to use the Show Guide and all the buttons I collected. Yes...I spend money at the expo! So I used clear corners to hold the Show Guide on the page and then used foam squares to adhere the buttons on. I actually had to use two foam squares on top of each other due to the concave on the inside of the button. But it was simple and did the trick.

I would love to hear how everyone else scraps their memorabilia. Do you take pictures of it and scrap the pictures? Do you have a separate momento keeper? Do you accent your even pictures with it?

Enjoy your Saturday and thanks so much for stopping by!

Fun~day Friday and Anything Goes!

So here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsors this week are Bugaboo and Di's Digis. The challenge starts Friday, May 8th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, May 15th at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme for this week is this Anything Goes! I just love to see what everyone creates for Anything Goes!! And here is what I created for this week....
I used the Blocks Hummingbird from Bugaboo. I plan to use this layout for Mother's Day. Mom has already request a yard work day from me and my one sister so we will be working and then BBQ'ing. My other sister and brother-in-law live in Florida and my brother and sister-in-law have their own kids so they are off the hook...no work day for them...lol!

Here is a close up of the Hummingbird Block. I used glossy accents to color the center of the flowers after coloring them with my COPICs. I love everything about Hummingbirds!

And this is how I am going to store the layout since the event for the layout hasn't even happened yet. I saved some of the same green cardstock to mount the photos for the second page. It would drive me crazy if for some reason when I went to add the photos I didn't have any of the right green color! I know it doesn't look it in the photo inside the page protector, but it really does match!

I love seeing what everyone creates for the Fun~day Friday challenges! Please make sure to stop by my DT sister's blogs to check out what they made for this challenge, I know you'll love it!

Happy Anniversary to Jo's Scrap Shack!!

A very happy, happy, happy 3rd anniversary to Jo's Scrap Shack! Thank you so much for stopping by and celebrating with us! We have an amazing Anniversary Blog Hop lined up for you today and an even more amazing gift for one lucky winner!

Remember, in order to win, you must stop by each designer's blog on the Anniversary Hop and leave a comment. The lucky winner will be announced on May 5th.

Here is what I created to wish Jo Happy Anniversary!

The card is a shadowbox that wasn't difficult to create. Here's the pattern that I drew and then cut with an exacto and ruler to create the opening (just scor the outer and inner boxes then scor an X through the center and slice). Don't forget to double score the top of the card the same width as the center to allow for an even shadowbox effect.

And what is celebration without a piece of cake!

So you should have reached my blog from Millie's (http://craftingwithcreativem.blogspot.com/). The next stop on the Anniversary Hop is Sherrie- http://www.sherriescraps.com/.

And here is the line up of designers and remember you need to stop by each one and comment on each one to enter to win! We have a number of amazing guest designers that have joined us for the Anniversary Blog Hop so please be sure to stop by and say hi to everyone!

Thanks again for stopping by and celebrating Jo's Scrap Shack's 3rd Anniversary with us!
