Simply Saturday Update

So I previously posted this layout I did in a Close to My Heart class. I keep a binder with my finished layouts that are ready to use. And I finally put pictures on it!

We celebrated my niece's birthday (a little late...) and Easter together one year.

Fun~day Friday #153

Sorry I didn't get anything posted last week. I have a new puppy and she is keeping me very busy!! She is an 8 month old lab  from a rescue. She has discovered there are cucumbers and canteloupes growing in the garden this week...and she is picking her own...lol!

So far it's Jemma 4. Garden 0. I figure it doesn't stand a chance...lol!

The challenge starts today, Friday, August 26th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, September 2nd at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And here is what I created using Gardening Charlie from Little Blue Button Stamps. 

 I used my new Brother Scan nCut to cut out the digi image. It works so wonderful!! I colored Charlie with my COPICs and the paper is some CTMH that I had in my stash.

I haven't put a title on the second page yet as I'm not positive yet what I want to put. Mom's flowers came up beautifully this year so I can't wait to print and showcase them in my scrapbook.

Fun~day Friday #147

Our team this week is Team B. Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish. And our theme this week is a 321 Challenge - 3 Colors, 2 Embellis, 1 Technique!

The challenge starts today, Friday, July 15th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, July 22nd at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And here is the card I created using Sally & Her Umbrella.  

My three colors are yellow, blue and pink. My two embellis are the seashell and star fish. I think it's good I could only put on two...I might have gotten carried away with adding them! And my technique is the cloud embossing. I'm not sure what occassion I want to use this for so I haven't added any sentiments yet. It might end up being a Thank You for a friend who lives down south.

Jo’s Scrap Shack ~ 4th Anniversary Blog Hop!!

Thanks so much for stopping by to help us celebrate 4 years of crafting fun at Jo's Scrap Shack!!! 

You should have arrived at my blog from my dear DT friend Tina's blog. Here is what I created for the Blog Hop. 

I made a little holder to keep my cards in. I believe I first saw this on a Stampin' Up blog. I recreated it using one of my favorite Close to My Heart paper packs. I am trying to use my own handwriting a little more (I am sooooo bad at journaling in my scrapbooks...) so I used Kirarina WiNK to write the category names. My plan was to use grommets on the sides where I put the ribbon through but my Crop A Dile broke!?! So instead I used a piece of tape to make the threading easier. 

I didn't think to check the number of folds and holes to make sure my ribbon ended up on the outside for both ends when creating the template...oops! But with everything going on this week (death in the family) I don't have time to take it apart and redo it....so I just choose a hole in the center to skip. And you really can't tell once it's completed.
