Graduation Take Two

Good morning everyone! Here is the second graduation card I made. I know I took a picture of the two of them side-by-side but I can't find it, so I guess I must have accidentally deleted it. But they are the same card for my nieces just each in their own school colors.
My friend Fran showed me a quick and easy way to make a shaker card. Just cut a piece of foam smaller than the paper going over it. I put a little temporary adhesive on and stuck the two pieces together and ran them thru my Big Shot at the same time.
Adhere the foam onto your card, being sure to get around the edges of your opening so your pieces don't slide behind it. I accidentally purchased foam with adhesive on the back which worked out perfectly. I didn't even realize it came that way...a successful "mistake"...lol!
Drop your glitter in, put a piece of something clear over the top, gluing the edges well, and let it dry completely before playing with your shaker card. Yes, I played with mine before the glue was dry and some of the pieces stuck to the edges...oops! I think it still ended up being a cute card and my nieces liked them.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Celebrating the Red, White and Blue at Funday Friday

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by! Sorry I am late getting this posted, it's been a crazy week. Our fridge needs repair and hasn't been working since Monday night. But we got the call yesterday, the parts are in and our appointment is Monday - whoo hoo! I have a small cooler set up for a few essentials but cooking and being sure there are no leftovers has been a challenge for me.

But...on to our challenge for the week. Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo.

The challenge starts Friday, July 26th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, July 3rd at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme for this week is Red, White and Blue and here is what I created:
I used the Ruby Calendar Months digi. The paper is from my scraps and I added a little Stickles to her skirt after coloring her with my COPICs. I used the SU stars embossing folder on everything but the card base. It embossed all three pieces of paper at once nicely even though it's a little hard to see in the photo. I actually had to go out and buy ribbon to add since all my red, white and blue ribbon was too wide.

I love seeing what everyone creates for the Fun~day Friday challenges! Please make sure to stop by my DT sister's blogs to check out what they made for this challenge, I know you'll love it!

Graduations

Hey everyone! I was hoping to get this posted for a Simply Saturday post but I ran out of time this weekend. I have two nieces graduating this weekend; one was on Friday from high school and one is on Monday from 8th grade.

I needed to make cards for both me and my mom to give to the girls. Here is the one set.

I used school colors for the mat and base of the cards. I randomly stamped the background of a 12x12 with the Close to My Heart set Congrats Graduate. I used the same set on the inside of the cards.
Now off to make the next set of cards....which I'll get posted for next weekend.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Getting Friendly with Fun~day Friday

We seem to be having a lot of rain this June but we still need more. Hopefully tonight is beautiful as my brother's oldest graduates from high school! And then again on Monday as his youngest graduates from 8th grade. It's a very busy, but exciting, weekend for us all. I've made cards for them both and will be posting them over the weekend.

So here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsor this week is Little Blue Button Stamps . The challenge starts today, Friday, June 19th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends next Friday, June 26th at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme for this week is Friendship.

Here is what I created using the Water Plants Ivy digi from LBBS.
Isn't this digi just adorable! Here's a close up of her...
I'm really happy with how she came out. Isn't it a good feeling when we are that happy with our own work! I used my COPICs to color her in and edged all the papers in brown since, to me, she is gardening. I used some old Making Memories paper, Noteworthy, I've had in my stash for years. I'm not sure if I am going to put two 5x7 photos on the layout or one 5x7 and then some smaller ones so I didn't put any photo mats down yet but am storing my scraps with the layout so my mats are a perfect match and will probably add a few more embellishments once the photos are in place. And now it's your turn...

I love seeing what everyone creates for the Fun~day Friday challenges! Please make sure to stop by my DT sister's blogs to check out what they made for this challenge, I know you'll love it!

Fun~day Friday for Dad!

So here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsors this week are Bugaboo and A Day for Daisies. The challenge starts Friday, June 12th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, June 19th at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme for this week is Father's Day. Here is the card I created using the Bugaboo Dad Cupcake Digi:
I colored the image with my COPICs then I layered it and created a pop up card on the inside. This type of card always reminds me of the pop up books I read as a kid...I loved them! I know it doesn't say Father's Day...ooops! I realized I didn't have a Father's Day stamp as my dad passed away back in 1991 before I started crafting. And here is the front of the card...

I would love to hear what everyone is planning for their Father's Day celebrations! I know there are many moms out there that are both mom and dad and deserve just as much celebration on Dad's Day!

And as always I love seeing what everyone creates for the Fun~day Friday challenges! Please make sure to stop by my DT sister's blogs to check out what they made for this challenge, I know you'll love it!

Fun~day Friday

Happy Friday everyone! I know it's June but the weather here sure has been a bit chilly for June. But the past few days we have had some much needed rain so I guess I shouldn't complain.

So here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsors this week are Little Blue Button Stamps and Di's Digis. The challenge starts Friday, June 5th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, June 12th at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme for this week is this sketch:
I choose a digi from LBBS, the Ragdoll Sweetheart Stars Watching digi. I just thought it was an adorable digi and would be perfect for coloring with my COPICs. So here is what I created with the sketch...

I bought this paper years ago because I used to go dressed up to go to the Renaissance Festival when it was held here in town. I'm not sure where my pictures are...but when I find them I have the perfect layout now. I turned the sketch sideways and decided to layer the center element to create the longer strip down the  middle. My plan is to add two pictures to this page (it was so long ago the pictures should be 3x5...lol!) and journal on either the blue or green strip depending on how the pictures fit. I have to admit, this layout brought back a lot of fun memories for me. My friends and I had a great time at the festival each year, it had become tradition. We loved watching the live chess game, the jousts, the skits, and of course the food. But the people who owned the land eventually sold it and the festival had to find new property.

So I love seeing what everyone creates for the Fun~day Friday challenges! And please make sure to stop by my DT sister's blogs to check out what they made for this challenge, I know you'll be glad you did!

I just wanted to quickly share part of a SMASH kit I finally finished putting together. I have a SMASH book...it has a lot of beautiful page...
