Funday Friday #64 - Happy Halloween!

I am wishing everyone who celebrates a Happy Halloween! While I am way too old to trick or treat, I did buy a costume for my dog this year...all because I saw an adorable embellishment of a little boy dressed as a dog for Halloween! I know my fellow scrapbookers can relate :)  So after I get pictures of my little pumpkin I will get them posted. And now on to today's challenge....

I used my chevron punch and embossing folder to create the black front...adorableably easy. Sometimes I find the easier cards are just super cute. Now to decide who to give the card to :)

Here is what I created for this week's challenge:

It's really a simple card and it was oh so much fun to make! The spider web on the front was made with an embossing folder and some daubbered ink. I'm sure that chalk would create just as nice an effect too :)  I used a punch for the spider's "den". The hole goes thru both the black piece and the gray card base. He is stamped on a piece of vellum which is adhered to the inside of the card.

I used the Full Blooms 2 digi stamp and the sentiment is a bonus that you get with it! 

I know summer is over and fall is here but I know I am going to be missing the warm weather soon so that's why I picked the Full Blooms 2 digi stamp. I decided to stamp around the edges of my circles with some of the Stamps By Judith stubbies I have. The I decided to create my own border on the inside of the card using the same stubbies.

Tasty Tuesday & Pumpkin Goodness!

I don't know about you but I am ready for fall and all the delicious pumpkin goodies! I just have to share this pumpkin cake I made the other night, it was so good and super easy to make.

I used the Tastefully Simple Nana's Cake, two eggs and a can of plain pumpkin...that's it...the whole recipe! I topped it with a little Reddi Whip and my sweet tooth was satisfied :)

The recipe is one of many pumpkin yummies on my Tastefully Simple website. The recipe called for the regular Nana's Cake but I used the Gluten Free version for my mom and it was still awesome. Definitely a dish I will make over...and over...and over...lol. We've found that going gluten free has helped her arthritis inflammation. She isn't totally gluten free but keeps clear of it most of the time.

Here is what I created for this week's challenge:

I love the fall colors in this card. I dusted my brayer off, put a mask in the center of the card and created the great background.  I tend to have a tough time with the brayer so it takes me a long time but I love the look of using a mask. I then stamped all over the card and added a little tag on the side.
