3 Twenty Crafts
Make sure to play along this week~ you don’t want to miss a chance for a great prize!
Starts: Friday, May 30th 12:00 AM (eastern time) Ends: Friday, June 6th 6:00 PM (eastern time) Here is what I created for this week's challenge using two of
the 3 Twenty Crafts stamp sets:
For the life of me I couldn't get this card to scan straight...so it's the scan that's lopsided, not the card!  I wanted to play around with using markers on vellum so I based my birthday card around that. I just love the Background Builder set so I started there. I stamped the vellum with Versamark and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored in the empty (unembossed) squares using a Q-tip. I just placed on the Q-tip on the end of my Cherry Cobbler SU marker and colored. A little color goes a long wa…

Want a great way to use up your leftover chicken? Look no further....

Fajita Pasta Salad

I make a lot of chicken...I could eat it almost every night. And I'm sure this would be just as tasty with leftover turkey (I need to make a reminder for Thanksgiving for that...lol!). I know I post a lot of Tastefully Simple recipes but I really do love the products and how easy it is to prepare them.

Here's the recipe straight from the Tastefully Simple website....

ingredients 1 pkt. Feisty Fajita™ Dip Mix  add to cart 1 cup sour cream¾ cup mayonnaise½ cup milk12 oz. prepared bowtie pasta, drained and cooled3 cups rotisserie chicken, cubed 1 jar Corn, Black Bean Salsa  Salt and pepper to taste
Whisk first 4 ingredients until smooth; set aside. In a large bowl, toss pasta, chicken and salsa. Fold in dip mixture; season to taste. Chill 1 hour. Makes 8-10 servings.

Starts: Friday, May 23rd 12:00 AM (eastern time) Ends: Friday, May 30th 6:00 PM (eastern time) Digi stamps make great embellishments! Here is what I created for this week's challenge:
It's a little hard to see but I used the Viva 3D Stamp Paint to make it look more like sand under the word Beach. I also colored an extra palm tree, bucket, shovel and sand castle and used dimensionals to give it a little dimension. I really had a lot of fun working on this layout.

I used the CTMH Surf's Up paper to…

BBQ Deviled Eggs
Who doesn't love deviled eggs at a picnic! The weather is warming up and I hope everyone is planning their Memorial Day picnics! I could eat a half dozen of these...
And here's the deliciously easy recipe straight from the Tastefully Simple website..
Ingredients 1 Tbsp. Sweet & Smoky BBQ Seasoning  ½ cup mayonnaise12 hard-boiled eggs, peeledChopped parsley or chives, if desired Directions Combine first 2 ingredients; set aside. Slice eggs in half lengthwise. Remove yolks and mash with a fork. Add to mayonnaise mixture; blend well. Fill egg whites with yolk mixture. Cover; chill up to 24 hours. Garnish with parsley or chives if desired. Makes 12 servings. If you like a smoother yolk mixture, try using a mixer instead of a fork to combine everything. Bring this to your next picnic and be the hit of the picnic :)  Enjoy!

Perfectly Potato Cheddar Quiche

This is so tasty and so easy to make! And you can do it without the crust is you're looking to cut back on carbs.

Here's the recipe right from Tastefully Simple....

ingredients 1 cup dry Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup Mix  1¼ cups hot water3 slightly beaten eggsSalt and pepper to taste1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese3 - 4 strips cooked, crumbled bacon
9-inch prepared pie crust
Preheat oven to 400°. Whisk first 3 ingredients in medium bowl; season with salt and pepper. Let stand 5 minutes. Place cheese and bacon in pie crust. Pour egg mixture over bacon mixture. Bake for 45 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting. Makes 4-6 servings.
To cut back the calories a bit I am going to make it using Bacon Bacon and omit the salt and pepper. Bacon Bacon has so much flavor I don't need the salt and pepper. I often substitute it for bacon in recipes and love it sprinkled on salads.
Enjoy & blessings! Joyce

The Buggies and Buds Shop Hop Tickets are available!!

If you live in or near Pennsylvania you'll definitely want to check out the Buggies and Buds Shop Hop! I live in Jersey and it is worth the trip. This year the shop hop is October 1-13. Here's the link to their webpage:

http://www.buggiesandbuds.com/
I have gone for the past two years and it has been so much fun!! My BFF that I go with has moved to Florida so I may be going solo...but it will still be worth it. I found some great LSS stores thru the shop hop. My "home store" is Joys of Life Scrapbooking. I purchase my passport from Joys of Life. The passport entitles me to 20% off the participating scrapbooking stores! So it's like everything is on sale...yeah! And the people I've met along the shop hop has always been fantastic.

Happy Shopping :)

It's Funday Friday!

Image
Hi Everyone,

Sorry I've been so quiet lately, there has been a lot going on. But I am back and ready to go! So let's start the weekend with Funday Friday :)

This week's Challenge is: “A Shaped Card” Create a shaped card! Our sponsors this week are:
Bugaboo and A Busy Bee
Make sure to play along this week~ as always you don’t want to miss a chance for a great prize!
Starts: Friday, May 9th 12:00 AM (eastern time) Ends: Friday, May 16th 6:00 PM (eastern time)
Here is what I created for this week's challenge:
I used my Floral Framelits to create the card base. I folded the card and moved the top edge of the framelit off the card so it wouldn't cut. The adorable stamp is from Bugaboo, Mom Flower Word. I colored the image using my Copics. To finish off the card I also decorated the inside of it...
I used a retired Mother's Day stamp set from Stampin' Up! and a retired SU! paper pack. This card was actually very quick to make. If you haven't tried to make a shaped card …

Paper Nest Dolls
Make sure to play along this week~ you don’t want to miss a chance for a great prize!
Starts: Friday, May 2nd 12:00 AM (eastern time) Ends: Friday, May 9th 6:00 PM (eastern time) Here is what I created for this week's challenge:
I used the Artsy Avery digi stamp and colored her with my pencils. I also sprayed her with Fireworks, Dessert Sand, which is really hard to see in the picture. But in person she shines and sparkles. I also did some color blocking using two shades of pink for the back ground and then embossed the background with the Stampin' Up Decorative Dots embossing folder.
And since I had four images printed, I colored all four at once. I didn't have enough leftover SU owl paper to do four cards. But this is one of my favorite (and retired!) papers from SU and I have been saving it.

Make su…
