Thankful Thursday

This week, continuing with the dental work, I am thankful I have found an amazing dentist locally! I am having a few implants put in to replace crowns and a bridge from when I was young and the front is complete. (My brother and I thought it was a good idea to race through the woods in the dark...thus the need for new front teeth..but that's a story for another day!) My dentist is a perfectionist in his work and the teeth look amazing, very real. You can't tell at all that they are implants.

Fun~day Friday #161

Our team this week is Team B. Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish. And our theme is ...Anything Goes!

The challenge starts today, Friday, October 21st at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, October 28th at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And here is what I created using Apple Harvest. 

 

I used my Scan n Cut to cut out the image shape and my COPICs to color in the image. I find I like coloring the image in before I cut it out best. And the paper is from a card kit I had from years ago. And apple picking is one of my favorite things! I was hoping to go this year but time has gotten away from me and I don't think I'll be able to. But I did color and cut a 2nd image because I want to use it on an apple picking layout...which may not happen until next Fall so that image is ready and in my Scrap Rack.

And this week I am thankful for whoever invented Novocain! I've needed a lot of dental work recently so have spent a lot of time just leaning back with my mouth open and been able to do a lot of thinking...lol! And I couldn't imagine having to go through any of that without the Novocain!

Simply Saturday

Here's a quick layout I did of my mom from the Greek Festival last year. For some reason the background paper just seemed really fitting for this, not really sure why. It was some CM paper that was in my stash.

It became tradition that every year we would go and have dinner and Greek coffee there. Mom loved her coffee in general and the Greek coffee ranked near the top. Then we would do a little shopping and pick up some of the amazing pastries the women of the church would make! If you have a Greek Festival near you it is definitely worth visiting!

Fun~day Friday #160

The challenge starts today, Friday, October 14th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, October 21st at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And here is what I created using Angel Seraphina. 

When I saw this image I knew right away the type of layout it would be for - a journaling page in my book about me to record those times when I know God has brought angels into my life! Now to do all the journaling, which I am sure will bring many tears of joy. 

I colored the image using my Kaiser Craft Glitter Pens. If you haven't use these pens...they are awesome!! They are so smooth. I used them for the first time with my Bible journaling and am hooked. Then I used my Scan n Cut to cut out the colored image (I think I'm getting the hang of it...lol!). My layered circles are all scraps and even the ivory star pendant is "recycled". The pendant was in my mom's jewelry box and when I saw it I knew I wanted to include it in my scrapbooking as a memory of her. And of course, I know she is one of the angels watching over me!

Simply Saturday

Here is a very simple layout I did with my youngest niece. It's rare that I find paper where the sayings are so perfect for the layout.

I just loved all the sayings on this paper and thought they were so fitting and appropriate for the day, so I did some simple matting and worked around them. I do pray that her faith continues to grow each day. She is an amazing kid with an amazing heart!
