Good morning everyone! Can you believe that it's Friday already! My weekend away was great...but it seems like it was so long ago already...lol!

I had a really hard time getting a good photo of this one, I just couldn't get the colors true. The colors are very vibrant. But it's a quick layout this week with fun papers I had together for a kit. I think I got too relaxed on vacation and just can't get back into the swing of things! Those who know me know that I absolutely love sitting outside with my coffee in the summer...there just isn't a better way to start my day. So this layout will go in my book about me and how I spend my summer mornings.

Fun~day Friday is Sketchy Again!

I hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer. I can't believe we are half way through August already. I feel like summer just started :(   But I am off this weekend for a scrapbooking weekend with my peeps. It's at a retreat center on 7 acres so I am looking forward to scrapbooking and getting out to enjoy the historic grounds....and hopefully have lots of great photos to scrapbook from it!

Fun~day Friday Hits 100!!

Exciting news to share - Fun~day Friday has reached it's 100th Challenge!!! How exciting...yeah!! And I am so thankful you have stopped by to join us in celebrating!

Here is what I created for Anything Goes! I choose the Crossword-Brat Birthday Girl from Bugaboo. I can't even begin to relate to everyone how much I absolutely loved, loved, loved doing the Seek-a-Word books as a kid! When I saw this digi I couldn't not choose it. This is definitely going in my book about me. I need to add a title but my Cricut is packed for a scrapbooking weekend next weekend (yeah me!!).  So this weekend I'll cut "Seek-a-Word" to add to the page.

The flower is just white paper that I inked to match the papers. And the bling was clear and I colored it in with a sharpie permanent marker.

I love this digi...she is way too cute! And I am a total "messy Betsy"! I am forever spilling coffee, my lunch or something down me. I keep those Tide pens everywhere-my desk, purse, car, home.  I did learn one valuable lesson with this coloring today...don't open my COPICs over the image. My one pen "spit" as I opened it...right onto the paper. Luckily nothing too tragic. And the layout is from my CTMH hostess club night.

Fun~day Friday

So here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsors this week is Fawn Lawn. The challenge starts Friday, July 24th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, July 31st at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme for this week is this sketch: 

Here is what I created for this week:

The metal sheet was run through the Big Shot with an embossing folder and then I just dropped Distress Inks onto the metal sheet and let it dry. Then I rubbed black Archival Ink all over (tip...be sure your sheet is completely dry before rubbing ink on it or it will ruin your ink pad!) and finished the metal sheet off with a little sanding once it was completely dry. It's one of the great techniques I learned at a recent Inky Distress class at Joys of Life Scrapbooking. You can't see in the photo but there is a sheer green ribbon underneath the white one. I used a 3Twenty Crafts stamp for my sentiment. The metal sheet is sticky on the back but everything else was adhered using glossy accents. This was really a fun technique for me, I hope you like it too!

Fun~day Friday

I can't believe it's Friday already...this week has just flown by for me. So here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsor this week is Little Blue Button Stamps. The challenge starts Friday, July17th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, July 24th at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme for this week is to create something with embossing and/or distressing. Here is what I created using the Mixed Media digi from LBBS:

I have been taking mixed media class at Joys of Life Scrapbooking and am breaking out of my comfort zone and getting more creative! I created my background with the Dylusion Sprays and then did my heat embossing for the flowers, roses and leaves. Next I inked the butterfly in the center. Then I printed the digi on deli sheet paper and glued it on. The final step was stamping the sentiments.

I did something wrong putting the deli sheet on because you can still see the edges. In the class I took we didn't see any edges. So...when I go to my next class I'll have to find out what I did wrong and I will let you know the right product to use.

Fun~day Friday is here!

So here are the details for this week's challenge: Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo. The challenge starts Friday, July 10th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, July 17th at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And our theme for this week is nautical seascapes. And who doesn't love anything nautical this time of year! I love the warm weather and everything that goes along with it (except bugs...lol).

 So here is what I created this week using the Lighthouse from Bugaboo.

One of the things I love best about digi stamps is being able to resize them. When I printed the digi I couldn't decide which set of pictures I was going to use it with so I printed various sizes on one sheet of paper. These pictures are from Florida. I don't think Florida is known for lighthouses but I love the picture of the water (although it's got a horrible glare in every photo I took) and water reminds me of lighthouses. When I think of lighthouses I think the Jersey shore. I guess because my mom loves lighthouses and used to take me to see them as a kid. I plan to use one of the digis I printed in her album with her pictures of the shore too. I still have to decide on a title once I have the other page of the layout done.
